Week 15 Fantasy Football Pick'em and Predictions

Alright. So. We're winding down in the season. We should really have a grip on all of the teams by now. But, of course, the NFL despises consistency and the thought of anyone being correct and throws a good amount of curveballs each and every week.

So here come some explanations on the games where Jordan and I don't see eye to eye.

Redskins vs. Giants: I'd be lying if I told you that I made this pick mostly out of hope that the Giants losing gets Dallas one step closer to a playoff birth. (Really, I shouldn't be hoping that, because I know that making the playoffs really just means that we are going to get absolutely embarrassed on national television again, likely by the Falcons who should be sitting in the 5 seed.) But I digress. The Redskins showed off their offense against New England last week, in a game that would have went to overtime if Santana Moss could catch. Giants looked sloppy in the win over Dallas, and Redskins can exploit it if their defense is up to the challenge. Giants are the favorites at home, but Redskins could be the spoiler here. Hopefully.

Lions vs. Raiders: I don't see where Jordan is coming from on this one really. Palmer is coming off a four interception day last week. The team is hurting. And, while the Lions are also losing momentum, they will be getting Suh back. Effectively putting more pressure on Palmer, which causes turnovers. Lions are still technically fighting for a playoff spot, meaning that this is a game they need the win on. And seeing the Packers handle Oakland with ease last week, Lions should roll.

Ravens vs. Chargers: I've got the Chargers here. They are hot as of late. Looks like all the team needed was the return of Malcom Floyd for Philip Rivers and company to get out of their funk. Ravens have the tough run defense, but could have trouble against the aerial attack that includes Gates and Vincent Jackson. Ray Rice is going to have to be a start yet again, as the Ravens passing game is far from spectacular this year. We've seen the Chargers go down a lot this year, but they don't want Tebow winning the division any more than I do.

Steelers vs. 49ers: Pretty simple here. I don't think Big Ben plays. They are borderline a sure thing for a playoff spot. I think they rest him this week as he is far from 100%. Mendenhall is facing the best run defense in the nation, and I have a funny feeling that AARP-member Charlie Batch won't be able to exploit their secondary weaknesses.

Here's the picks.

Week 14 Fantasy Football Pick'em and Predictions

For the past few weeks I've been picking up the pace. Been basing my picks a lot on the Thursday night game actually. Seahawks beat the Eagles last week, I picked a handful of upsets and they paid off.

This Thursday, the Steelers barely escaped the Browns of all teams. This could point to another week of upsets if I'm going off the same strategy, but I'm not feeling very upsetty this week.

I'm normally scared when they look straightforward, but the only big gun I can see going down is the Patriots of all teams. Redskins passing game and emergence of Helu might be enough. And Brady and the Pats (mostly the secondary) only got past the un-undefeated Colts by seven.

Here's the picks.

Week 13 Pick'em and Predictions

Eagles looking like a hot mess vs. the Seahhawks on Thursday night makes me a little bit worried about the remainder of Week 13.

We've seen one relative upset where the favorite completely flopped on the road. And this week we see a lot of favorites hitting the road to face teams that have upset potential. At first glance, these games appear straightforward, but I would not be surprised to see some home team underdogs keep them close. I'm talking about Texans and Falcons, Vikings and Broncos, Dolphins and Raiders, Redskins and Jets, Cardinals and Cowboys, Jags and Chargers.

Could see some big surprises this week. That's all I'm saying.

My locks for the week are Patriots (obviously), Cowboys, Ravens and 49ers. If you're still alive, these teams are likely not available for you to choose from. So good luck with that. Broncos over Vikings and Chargers over Jags would be next in line.

Good luck to everyone. Enjoy Week 13!

Week 12 Fantasy Football Pick'em and Predictions

Last week worked out pretty swimmingly. If only I had gone with my gut before that week. After 11-3, though, I'm rolling high and pretty confident after a 2-1 Thursday after stupidly gambling on the falling Lions over the unstoppable Packers.

Jordan and I are not eye-to-eye on a bunch of games this week. Turns out that a lot of these seem to be toss-ups. So good luck to everyone with their pick'em calls this week.

Week 11 Fantasy Football NFL Pick'em and Predictions

New strategy. Hardcore gut picks this week. Bengals over Ravens, Seahawks over Rams, Eagles over Giants.

Lots of nonsense happening every week, so I might as well, right? Definitely not setting any records this year though.

Locks this week are getting tough. We are running out of really strong teams to choose from. This week though for sure-things, I like Patriots, 49ers, Packers, Raiders.

Also, for those of you that keep along with this, don't be surprised to see my picks change a bit once I get Allen B.'s comments below. The guys is out of control when it comes to picking upsets. He knows his stuff, so pay attention!

Jordan and My Girlfriend's Little Sister will be getting their picks in shortly, so stay tuned.

Week 10 NFL Pick'em and Predictions

I knew this week would come. Eventually, there is always one week when all your picks seem to be the exact opposite of everyone else. Well, this is that week.

Jordan and I disagree on eight of the 16 games this week, and honestly they could really all be close.

If the Thursday night game was any indication, we are in for yet another screwy week in the NFL. In a week full or rivalries, I think it is only fitting that Jordan and I disagree so many times.

If anyone out there is still in a survival league, first of all, congrats. I'd be right with you if the damn Giants didn't lose to the Seahawks. Awful. My locks for this week are actually hardly locks at all. Some tough games. Eagles win handily against the Cardinals. Ravens over Seahawks. Packers over Minnesota. Thats about it. If you've used all these teams, good luck to you. Gonna be some nailbiters.

So check out who we like. If you've got an upset in store, let me hear about it. And, in the eight games that we can't agree on, I'm counting on you all to be the tie breakers. Let me hear which teams you predict will win in the comments.

Week 9 Fantasy Football Pick'em Predictions

Alright, so Jordan is up on me by three. Last week we had all the same picks and managed to go 9-4. This week, I'm shaking things up a little bit.

There have been a lot of upsets every week, so, being down by three, I'm taking the gamble and picking a few teams that I think could sneak up. Hell, last week in my Pick'em post I correctly predicted the Vikings and Chiefs to win the game (though I didn't put them in the table, because I'm an idiot sometimes.

Upsets I've got in store this week:
Jets over Bills- Hard to believe that this one is even really an upset, but the Bills are favored here. Jets are improving ever so slightly and I think they can figure out the Bills in this one.
Rams over Cardinals- Cards are hurting a bit. Rams should have Bradford back and I'm excited to see what he can do with Brandon Lloyd and a re-invigorated Steven Jackson.

Games I struggled with:
Broncos and Raiders- Just a gut issue here that the Raiders offense will not be anywhere near good enough, leaving this a low scoring game that the Broncos can edge out.
Steelers and Ravens- Steelers are without a doubt the better of the teams right now... but the Ravens punished them in Week 1.

If you've got an upset in store, let me hear about it.

Week 8: Pick'em Predictions

A pretty damn straightforward week here.

Looking at pick'em sites you will see that 9 of the 13 games are picked by 90% of the voters. So lots of pretty easy  guarantees this week. Titans, Saints, Giants, Panthers, Ravens, Texans, Bills, Lions, 49ers.

Some upsets are possible here. Part of me is looking at the Vikings to make a run at the Panthers on the legs of Peterson. And I've got a funny feeling that the Chargers/Chiefs game could be a lot closer than San Diego fans want it to be.

I've only got one upset picked here and that is the Steelers over the Patriots. Definitely a high score possible here, but I think Big Ben will get it done through the air. Potential big game for all Steelers receivers here.

If you've got an upset in store, let me hear about it.

NFL Week 7 Pick'em Predictions

Alright, I've been doling out some pretty solid fantasy football advice, I have to say. So I'm going to take that as a consolation for having another pretty crap week in Week 6 at pick'em. 52-38 is not sexy.

Jordan and I disagree on a couple of games this week, so lets check them out:

Bears vs Bucs. Game is in London, should be windy, probably rainy. Bucs still without Blount, Bears still without an offensive line. I think the Bears are going to win this one, but all I can pretty much guarantee is that this one will be pretty sloppy.

Broncos vs Dolphins. I'm not sold on Tebow as an elite fantasy quarterback like nearly everyone else is. But I am definitely not sold on him as a starting NFL quarterback. Sure he could run for a score, but we can see in games past that Miami is losing games because they struggle against the pass. And Denver is rocking a quarterback who can't exactly do that very well. Dolphins win their first at home.

Titans vs Texans. Take your pick really. I like the Texans this week. Not sure why, just a hometeam advantage I'm sure. Hoping Schaub finally makes a mark with a receiver with Andre Johnson gone for a while.

Chargers vs Jets. Sanchez had something like 20 yards passing in the first half of the last game against Miami. Chargers > Dolphins. I really like Malcolm Floyd as a fantasy option in this game.

I went Cowboys with my guarantee pick. Ravens, Saints, Steelers also good options.

NFL Week 6 Pick'em Predictions

Giants lost to the Seahawks. Awful. So, like roughly 80% of all those who started, I am now out of Survival Football. Who'd have thought. Oh well. Once again, it goes to show you how insane this year has been so far.

Last week was not out best outing. My Girlfriend's Little Sister Eeny, Meeny, Miney, Mo'ed her way into a better weekend record than Jordan and I. I predict a Week 6 breakthrough though as we are starting to get a better handle on these teams.

I think the Panthers finally pull together a win against another underwhelming favorite, the Atlanta Falcons. Redskins win at home in their rivalry with the Dream Team. The Browns burst the Raiders' bubble. And the Cowboys rebound against the Patriots on the wings of Rob Ryan.

If I were still in it and had to make a Survival pick, I'd say that I'm most confident in the Steelers over the Jags, Jets over the Dolphins and Saints over the Bucs.

Excited to hear about your upset picks. I suggest that everyone who reads this scrolls down to the eminent Allan B comment, as the man is an upset savant.

NFL Week 5 Pick'em Predictions and Survival Football

Quite the week lined up. Of the 13 games this week. I have 10 of them being won by the visiting team. I don't know how I feel about that, but let's see what happens.

I think the Bills will continue to slide after the Bengals of all teams laid the blueprint of how to stop them. Eagles should be able to capitalize with their pass game.

Titans show no signs of slowing down as they take out the heartless Steelers.

Colts finally get a win under their belts at home against the Chiefs.

I think the loss of Andre Johnson is enough to throw the Texans off their game.

I struggled with the Lions and the Bears. The Lions have to be the worst looking 4-0 team ever, it was the pass rush against heavily-sacked Cutler that pushed me toward Detroit in this one.

If you've got any upset of your own or want to point out why you think one of us is out of our mind, go ahead and post it in the comments.

NFL Week 4 Fantasy Football Pick'em and Survival Picks

Hey GHL fans. Back with another week of pick'em.

I did a number on last week's messy results and came out on top at 11-5, tying with Jordan for the lead through three weeks. My Girlfriend's Little Sister kept her record split even.

In Nanny Nanny Boo-Boo news, Jordan is out of the Survival game after just three weeks. What did we learn... Betting against the Seahawks is usually a good move, but better on the Cardinals is a little iffy. For me Week 4 is with another team that should easily seal their victory. At about Week 5, when the majority of the competition is out, then we will start making our picks a little bolder. And it will be easier, because we will have a better sense for how the teams play. Ta-da!

A couple upsets on my list, for the most part, it seems pretty straight-forward though.

I see the Cowboys pulling through again at home against a solid Lions team. But the Lions haven't really faced anyone that good. They soundly beat the Kansas City High School Chiefs, struggled against Tampa, and had to go to overtime with the 0-3 Vikings.

I will also be taking Bucs losing to the Colts. I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm just feeling bold. I'm just not impressed by Tampa Bay this year. And it's about time for the Colts to do some work.

MGLS picks will be up shortly. If you've got an upset special that you like. Post it!

Picked up in Week 2. We're rocking it now.

NFL Week 2 Pick'em Predictions and Surival Football

Alright. I will admit. It was a less than stellar Week 1. But we have all the kinks worked out. Guaranteed.

I also want to points out the Survival Picks. Hopefully you read the article and went with a guarantee like Jordan and I did and made it into Week 2. According to the Survival League on ESPN, 19.5% of voters went for the Browns and 15.6% went for the Chiefs. With those two picks, over one third of the Survival players are already out. I will allow you to clap.

Onto a bit of analysis for this week's picks. Jordan and I are pretty similar. We took different stands on a couple of the toss up games, so I'm excited to check those out. My Girlfriend's Little Sister seems to have gone with the which mascot do I think is coolest strategy, and wound up bandwagoning with mostly underdogs this week. So, technically, you heard it here first.

NFL Week 1 Pick'em Predictions and Surival Football

Alright, welcome to our Week 1 Pick'em Predictions.

This year we are going to have a new addition to this post. We will also be predicting Survival winners. The rules for us are the same. We can only pick each NFL team one time.

For those of you that are new to GodHatesLosers, you will notice that Jordan and I are both making predictions. MGLS stands for My Girlfriend's Little Sister. She is 11. She enjoys drawing, being in the 6th grade, and dancing to "Michael Jackson: The Experience" video game on the Wii. Her picks are much like a coin toss, except more adorable.
