Week 15 Advice.

Hey everyone.

First off, of course, go Cowboys.

And secondly, hope you are all looking forward to another week in the NFL.

This morning, I will NOT have access to a computer, so I can not answer questions posted on this site today.
HOWEVER, I will be answering all questions posted to me on Twitter.

Simply tweet me @godhateslosers. And get your answer there!

Good luck to everyone. I know its a pivotal week for some of you, so let's kill it.

  1. Brees' took me to the title game next week!

I just wanted get your thoughts on my roster and a waiver wire option. At this point the waiver wire funds go to the jackpot anyways so if I win... it is taking money out of one pocket and putting into another! (**Demarius Thomas)

    Here we go!
    QB - Brees @ Atl
    WR -
    WR -
RB - AP @ Wash (only had 10 carries this week...)
RB - Marshawn Lynch @ SF
TE - Jimmy Graham @ Atl
    Flex W/R - Cedric Benson @ Ari

    WR Options
    -Nate Washington @ Jac
-Antonio Brown @ Stl (is Big Ben Playing??)
    -Donald Driver @ Chi
    -Brandon Lloyd @ Pit
    -Mario Manningham @ NYJ
**Demariyus Thomas is still out on the Waiver Wire @Buf

***Who would you start at the Widereceive option. Also, do you agree with my Flex Position starting Benson?

  2. I was wondering if I could get your advice with my roster for the championship.

QB: Stafford vs SD & Ryan @ NO
RB: Foster @ IND, Jacobs @ NYJ, Tate @ IND, Battle vs OAK and Ingram vs ATL
WR: Wallace vs STL,Colston vs ATL, Maclin @ Dal, Cruz @ NYJ
TE: Gates @ DET, Winslow @ CAR
D: Seattle vs SF, Cowboys vs PHI
    ___
My first shot at it is:

    QB: Stafford
    RB: Foster
    RB: Jacobs
    WR/RB: Maclin
    WR: Colston
    WR: Wallace
    TE: Gates
    DEF: Seattle

Demaryius Thomas is available also on waiver (will cost $15 to pick up but if I win it goes right back into my pocket).

Thanks in advance for your advice!

  3. My first though here was that Marshawn Lynch could be trouble. Running backs have not fared well against the 49ers all year. On the other hand though, Lynch is the offense for the Seahawks, he has put up surprisingly solid numbers all year. Should he start, probably. But don't expect him to win this matchup for you by any means.
Antonio Brown is the only real lock that I see in your WR spot. I have Lloyd, Manningham and Thomas close for the second spot here. If Bradford is back in the mix for St. Louis, I think that Lloyd has to be your man. Manningham really should have better numbers than he does. And I don’t expect the Giants to flop like they did last week, but he does have Nicks and Cruz to contend with, both of whom I have ranked higher than Manningham. Thomas scares me a bit, just because of Tebow throwing to him. They have hooked up a few times in the last few weeks, which is promising. He is a home run guy though, that could just as easily be shut out.

I’m going to defer to matchups here. Manningham against the Jets is rough. Lloyd against the Steelers is mega rough. Washington against the Jags is deceptively tough. Thomas against the Bills is doable.

I’d go Thomas and cross my fingers.

  4. Of course you can get my advice! Sorry it took me a while to get here.

My only disagreements here are small ones that can really come down to a coin toss. Your team is very good, really no matter how you start them, which is great. My rankings just have a couple of shifts here.

First is at quarterback. I can fully understand where you are coming from with Stafford. They are coming on strong for the playoffs. He had a great week last week. The matchup isn’t terrible. But… I like Ryan here. Atlanta needs this win. Primetime Monday night game. His matchup is a tad better than Stafford’s. I just feel that with the Chargers surging like they are, Stafford might have a tougher time if they can silence Megatron at all. It’s a personal call really. Go with your gut. Either guy is a great option.

My other would be at WR. Again, it’s very minute. But I like Cruz over Maclin. Maclin is great, Cowboys have been burned recently, but he will likely draw the strongest Dallas CB. And you know the Cowboys will be gunning for Vick after their first matchup. Cruz has a rough matchup here definitely against the Jets, but you have to imagine that Nicks or Manningham will be getting the most attention from Revis. It all comes down to who covers who for both of these guys, I just think that Cruz will have the bigger game.

I agree with all of your other starts. You’ve got a great team. No reason to pick up anybody at all. I hope I was able to help a little bit and didn’t muddy the waters any more than they probably already were. Good luck, and make sure you let me know how it turns out.

  5. GHL...Thank you for your advice. I ended up going with Stafford and Cruz. I really like what you had to say about Ryan but I had used Stafford for just about every game this year and I felt more comfortable with him in the end (like you said I really couldn't go wrong and I just went with my gut). Your advice on Cruz saved me. I really was not going to consider using him until I read your advice. Needless to say I was jumping for joy when he broke the 99 yard TD. The most important part is that I won my champion (2 years in a row). It came down to Brees/Moore vs 24 point lead and Colston. This was my first post and it really helped. Thank you and look forward to next year! Happy New Year.

  6. Congrats! Happy to have been able to help. I’ll see you next year.

In the next few weeks I will be posting advice and rankings for any postseason leagues. Also, I will be asking readers about how I can improve the site, attract a bigger audience and what they want to hear in the offseason. Stay tuned, I’d love to get your feedback on how I can make GHL even better next season.
