Fantasy Football Week 10 Pick-Ups

It's nearing crunch time. Time to start thinking about your rosters as we head into the final stretch before the playoffs. This week, you can expect the usual pick'em and rankings from GHL, but we are going to talk a lot about getting into the meat of the fantasy football year as we hone in on the playoffs.

Your overall record won't mean a thing in just a handful of weeks, the top performers are all starting from scratch in the head-to-head fantasy playoffs picture.
Before jumping into some larger moves to consider this week, let's take a look at the best Waiver Wire pickups for Week 10 and beyond. A couple injuries, as usual, are the main reasons you will be looking for additional talent. No bye weeks in Week 10, so it would seem that all teams are at full strength. Which means it's time to get down and dirty.

Why Tim Tebow is Not a Fantasy Football Starter

Advertising has an odd power over us. You don’t realize it when you drive past a billboard every day, but you are taking in the message. And in the back of your mind, you are converted into believing that you actually need what is being shown to you. This explains why so many naïve 21-year-olds flock to Miller Lite, looking past the obvious signs that it tastes like cat piss. And why John Fox has named Tim Tebow his Week 7 starter, looking past the obvious signs that… you can make the connection.
But, I can’t blame the guy. It is obviously the move that fans want. The team is in the garbage either way. Tebow is the only quarterback on the Broncos’ roster that will be in Denver next season. And at some point they will need to justify their irrational decision to take him in the first round.
I say let the Broncos do as they please. Let Tebow start, keep the fans from rioting. But do not let this translate over to you fantasy football team. Let someone else make the mistake. Because nobody wants to be the Denver Broncos of their fantasy league.

2011 NFL Week 2 Start'em Sit'em

I’m a firm believer in starting your elite players every week. A lot of people questioned Miles Austin in Week 1, but as most elite players do, Austin found a way to put up good numbers for your fantasy football team. But injuries (Steven Jackson, Danny Amendola, Hakeem Nicks, etc), and obvious poor performances (Knowshon Moreno, Chad Ochocinco) call for some creative roster adjustments.
Here are a few sleepers that will help boost your team out of any Week 1 rut that you experienced. And a list of players that you might want to consider ‘resting’ in Week 2.
