GHL Week 4 Pick'em and Survival Predictions

Alright. Here's the story. I've got a new gig. It takes up a ton of my time. I still think I'm doing alright though. I will continue doing my best getting to all of your questions. If it is an urgent one, or I havent responded to you, the best way to reach me is Twitter, so I can answer from my phone.

Twitter is @godhateslosers. If you don't have Twitter, its a pretty great fantasy football tool, you can reach me and other fantasy experts. Get live injury updates from the guys at NFL.com or ESPN. Its great. Promise.

Here's the pick'em that was, again, pretty unforgiving. Didn't exactly kill it last week. But I've got good feelings about this week. I do.

Upsets: Chiefs over Chargers... Bucs over Redskins... Eagles over Giants
Locks: Seems like theres a lot of them: 49ers, Falcons, Texans, Bengals... But I've learned that there is no such thing as a lock this year.

GHL Week 4 Position Rankings

Another fun week. And by that I mean, completely absurd. At least now we kind of have a handle on the defenses. Which ones are good against the run. Which ones are terrible against the pass. And so on and so forth.

I'm just happy to announce that I am a far better player ranker than I am a pick 'em predictor this year. Another rough week on that front.

Without further ado, here's my weekly rankings.

GHL Week Three Pick'em Predictions and Survival

Damn. So last week was a bit nuts. I'm in a Suicide (Survival) Pick'em league with more than 180 people. After Week 2, only 30 people are remaining. With the Patriots, Cowboys, Redskins and Saints going down, pretty much everyone that didn't pick the Bengals or Texans is gone.

So.. I'm out. I'm out here too. But for the sake of the game, I will continue playing along. Knowing full well that I suck at survival pick'em. Always have. I'm sure there is some sort of method for it... I'll find it eventually.

Upsets: I'll take the Dolphins over the Jets at home. Bengals over the Redskins in Washington. And the Cardinals taking advantage of the Eagles TOs.

Locks: Now it's dangerous for me to say "locks" But I'd put some money on the Cowboys, 49ers, Saints and Steelers

Let the games begin.

Week Three Fantasy Football Rankings

Once again, I'm coming at you with my QB, RB, WR, TE, K, DST, and PPR rankings! Check them out below.

Two weeks in and its still hard to get a grip on some of these players. I do think that this will be the breakthrough week for a lot of players who started off slow. I like Dez Bryant to have a good game after seeing what the Giants managed against the Buccaneer secondary. I think that Chris Johnson, even with a pretty rough matchup could finally break some damn tackles.

But we'll see. This is how I'm calling it...

GHL 2012 Week Two Fantasy Pick'em Predictions

Kickoffs start tomorrow. For the record, I really despise all of these Thursday night games. Not only do they throw off the rhythm of the NFL, but only on NFL Network, for real? Garbage.

Anyways. I'll try to get my Thursday pick out sooner.

So.. not the hottest Week 1 for me. But winning record, I suppose I'll take it. Picked a few good upsets, missed on a few. Got all of my locks right though, so go me!

Upsets: I like Chiefs over the Bills, Falcons over Broncos... and thats about it.

Locks: Patriots, Texans, Skins (did I really just say Redskins as a lock?), Bengals

Lets do this. So ready for Sunday, this has been a pretty boring college weekend, no?

2012 Week 2 Fantasy Football Rankings

Sorry that took so long. Once again, figuring out the kinks of a new system for getting these up. But now you lucky kids get PPR rankings too!

Feel free to ask any questions that you have right here in the post. This will act as my Advice Time of the week.

Excited for the game tonight. As you can tell by the rankings, I pretty much have any offensive player in the night's games pretty dang high. Think it should be a high-scoring affair.

Here we go!

2012 Week 1 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire – Like’em or Leave’em

So, we’ve reached the end of Week 1. It was a rocky one for sure, but that is pretty expected for fantasy football on opening weekend.

Take for instance that the highest scoring wide receiver was Kevin Ogletree, who began the season owned in .4 percent of leagues. That is 4 out of every 1000 leagues, people.

Or maybe that the highest scoring running back was C.J. Spiller, busting out for 169 rushing yards on 14 attempts… against the N.Y. Jets defense.

And let’s not forget that both Mark Sanchez and Blaine Gabbert finished the season as a top 10 scoring quarterback this week.

And on the other end of the spectrum, a huge amount of marquee players fell flat fantasy-wise. Larry Fitzgerald, Brandon Lloyd, Torrey Smith, Marques Colston, Dwayne Bowe, Victor Cruz, Vincent Jackson, Greg Jennings, Hakeem Nicks, And Wes Welker all scoring six points of less.

At running back Chris Johnson, Michael Turner, Trent Richardson, Ronnie Brown, Isaac Redman, Roy Helu, Cedric Benson, Fred Jackson, Peyton Hillis and Beanie Wells and DeAngelo Williams couldn’t even manage to break the four-point barrier.

But it was just week one. Things come and go. I wouldn’t worry too much about the low scoring stars, they always bounce back. The sleepers are the interesting kids. Here are my thoughts on the players worth picking up, and those that seem a little too good (fluky) to be true.

Here is my list of some waiver wire names that I like to either continue their scoring trend or to drop off. Let’s get to my Like’em or Leave’em.

GHL's 2012 Week One Fantasy Pick'em Predictions

Time for some Pick'em! And that means that the first Sunday of fantasy football.

Week 1 is generally the hardest. You only had the preseason games to get a feel for the teams, and in those game they rarely played their starters. And let's be honest... you didn't watch them.

So there will be upsets. Surprises. Someone mighty will fall.

Below you will find our picks for this week. Every week we will be posting them, along with out survival pick. The team that we guarantee to win. Feel free to comment with your rebuttals and who your lock is.

This week... I'd say the guarantees would be Detroit over St. Louis, Bears over Colts, Houston over Miami, Philly over Cleveland. The Patriots inconsistency in the preseason scares me a bit, but that is likely nothing to worry about. To read about my Survival League strategy, click here.

As for the upsets, I like Arizona over Seattle and Steelers over Broncos.

P.S. - If you don't believe that I picked the Cowboys, then just look at any pick'em from last year.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Darlings

Every year we form our fantasy football teams. We study rankings and draft to the best of our abilities. But there is that one guy that we get that we just aren't sure about.

Some of us may have had the misfortune of an inopportune Internet glitch, making for a questionable “auto-pick.” Some of us may have seen the three people that we were going to choose between go consecutively right before us, leaving us rushed and unsure and spontaneous. Some of us just could have been a little dumb and gotten a 3rd string running back without thinking or an injured player.

Whatever the case, it seems like every year, after the teams have been picked, you look at it and think it could be just a touch better.

If that is the case, then I have made this post just for you. If you currently own a player that you're not to high on, read through the following list of fantasy football waiver wire darlings. The guys that didn't get drafted, but are in line to be great sleepers with the potential to turn up a great season.

Trust me, nobody else will be checking these guys out until the end of week 1. So the free agency pool is your playground. So, here is the list of 2012 best fantasy football waiver wire pickups.
